There’s not much you can’t do in Copenhagen on two wheels, from transporting Christmas trees and moving house, to taking your dog for a ride and even going on a food tour.

It’s not just a fun way to get around, it’s also efficient and a great way to get to know the city like a local. Just under half of all Copenhageners commute to work by bike, after all. It’s often the fastest route to wherever you want to go, and you won’t have to fight for a parking space when you get there. Just remember to use a lock, to signal before you turn, and to keep an eye on the traffic lights. There are special bike lights at many junctions, allowing cyclists to go first, along with bike rests, bike-orientated litter bins and bike paths separated from the road by a curb. It all adds to the understanding that in this city, cycling is safe, and cyclists are empowered to share the road.

Including cycling in your programme of events is easy: many of the city’s hotels offer rental options and if they don’t already have a fleet of bikes on their doorstep, can arrange for your delegates to rent them.
