Copenhagen’s culinary scene continues to thrive as Guide Michelin Nordic Countries 2021 assigns 23 stars to 14 of the city’s restaurants - including three stars to noma - as well as three Michelin Green Stars to local venues promoting sustainability and two Michelin Special

There’s no shortage of superb food experiences in Copenhagen and this year’s Guide Michelin Nordic Cities once again acknowledged this by assigning more Michelin stars and Special Awards to the local gastro community than ever before. With 23 stars, Copenhagen continues to lead the gastro field ahead of neighbouring Nordic capitals Stockholm (15 stars), Helsinki (7 stars) and Oslo (6 stars) too.

A culinary powerhouse

Already named one of the world's best restaurants, the crown jewel of Copenhagen’s culinary scene, noma, joined Geranium as one of now two Copenhagen restaurants with three stars. Kong Hans Kælder joined Copenhagen restaurants AOC, Kadeau, Alchemist and Jordnær to hold two stars, whilst newcomer The Samuel entered the list of local one-star restaurants.

Copenhagen’s exciting green gastro scene also reaped huge recognition for its innovative cuisine and sustainable credentials with no less than three special green stars awarded to local venues Ark, Térra and Brace.

Meanwhile, René Redzepi, Chef-Owner of noma, also received the MICHELIN Chef Mentor Award 2021 whilst Christoffer Sørensen, Head Chef at Stud!o at The Standard was awarded the MICHELIN Young Chef Award 2021.
